ABOUT GIANNI
Gianni Carrieri was born and raised in Martina Franca, a picturesque village in Apulia region in the south of Italy. He was surrounded by notoriously good food at a young age, which meant that Gianni’s future as a Chef was well established before he even knew it! His early days were spent cooking with the family, utilizing the abundance of amazing produce and learning to handle them with the most traditional methods.
Gianni’s career officially began as a Chef in Venice, working in several distinguished Restaurants and Hotels such as Cipriani where he had the opportunity to cook for many Hollywood Celebrities. Gianni’s career includes many Italy’s iconic luxury 5 Star Hotels such as Villa d'Este in Como, Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Hotel Hermitage in Tuscany as well as the prestigious Jazz club Blue Note in Milan.
After many years of cooking his way around Europe, Gianni moved to Sydney where he worked as Head Chef at Ventuno Restaurant, in Walsh bay and as Culinary Expert at Winning Appliances. Gianni currently works as Showroom Manager and Chef Coordinator at VZUG, a Premium Swiss leader in household appliances and he is now offering his 20+ years of experience to the public through Consultancy and Private Chef Service.
Gianni has the trademark perpetual Italian passion for all things food and wine. He also has a big passion for sport and music. When he’s not cooking, Gianni can be found riding his motorbike around Sydney exploring local markets for the best seasonal produce he can lay his hands on!
